The standard size of reinforcement bar = 12m

Let’s consider,

The Diameter of bar = 20mm

Weight of bar = D

^{2}/162Weight of 1 bar = 20×20 / 162 = 2.46kg

What is the factor denominator factor 162 refers to , How is it arrived if explained will be helpful to all.

The Weight of the steel reinforcement bars can be calculation by the below mentioned formula:-

Weight of Bar per Meter Length in KgĀ = D

^{2}/162.2Where D = Diameter of Reinforcement bar

For Example :

Calculate the Weight of 12mm diameter bar of One Meter length ?

= (12X12)/162.2 = 0.88 kg Ans.
